It specifically focuses on data compression and this is essential into making an audio file into a mp3 file for public use. The website provides a simple explanation on how mp3 files are used/made, and it also shows the shortcomings of mp3 such as loosing some potential audio quality in the process. In the end the website gives some alternatives if the shortcomings of mp3 were too much for the consumer.

Audio compression has been criticized many times before due to it's amount of downsides that is has despite it's easy sharing capabilities. Audio compression is largely known t decrease the quality of the sounds that are going to our ears. However, this website it making the case that it may not affect the music so much that we should't be listening to it. In other words, the difference doesn't really make that much of a difference in terms of practicality. The article describes a test that was used to measure really how much of a difference it makes and it turned out to be pretty insignificant.

However the source gave me a general idea of what is the pros and cons of the different types of audio files. Although the article dives into the different sound waves and computerized language, in the end it seems the mp3 files and other files don't seem to have a significant difference in terms of the average listener listening to his/her favorite pop songs.
